Situated in Göcek Güllüklü Bay, between a lush liquidambar forest and a stunning coastline, this hospitality project seamlessly harmonizes with its serene surroundings and deep history. Organized by the astute client Odaş, the project was guided through a thorough concept vision developed by GabStudio from Spain and run on with multiple design studios as Stüdyo AB, SolidStudio, and more... Urban Atölye was mainly involved in the structural and performative design and implementation of the bungalows.

The series of cabanas allow a total immersion in nature, saturated with daylight and yet invariably protected from the heat, bringing together the warmth, the acoustic and visual comfort of timber.

The system design process included digital twin modeling for efficient construction and site installation, which occurred over a remarkable timeline of 7 months, with the drawing phase overlapping with construction and concluding with the interior installations.

Urban Atolye developed the schematic design, climate specific detailing, structural design, envelope design and application drawings for the Ahama Living project Cabanas featuring 27 timber cabanas, each designed in one of seven adaptable types to meet various needs and qualities. The initial schematic model mockup in full size in the site was then adapted into seven different sizes and variations.

The wall detail amounting to a remarkable 35cm included 10cm airgap between studs, 10cm sprayed boron-based cellulose insulation as well as 4+4+4cm timber rain screening. Timber clad exposed skillion roof and beams with airgaps and insulation is covered with slate tiles.

UA further provided the lighting scones from UA product line as well as the brass accessories such as rain chains, curtain rails, shower handles, toiletries and mirrors initially prototyping and then overseeing production.
